Our story

Baked with neighbors in mind.

Scone Oak Bakery started on a Saturday morning in my Stone Oak kitchen with a batch of lemon lavender scones and nowhere near enough of them. My neighbor knocked on the door asking what smelled so good, and by noon a dozen people had texted asking where they could get one.

I've always baked — my grandmother taught me to make shortcrust pastry before I could reach the counter without a stool — but somewhere between a corporate career and raising kids in north San Antonio, the baking became therapy, then obsession, then this.

Everything is made the same way it was in that first batch: real butter, local honey from a Hill Country producer I trust, and enough time in the oven to get it right. No shortcuts, no preservatives, nothing you can't pronounce.

The Scone Box started so my regulars would stop worrying about whether I'd have their favorite flavor left on Saturday. Now it's what most of us look forward to on Friday morning.

The Baker, Stone Oak

How we bake

Made the right way — every time.

🧈

Real butter, always

European-style cultured butter in everything. Life is too short for substitutes.

🌿

Seasonal ingredients

We follow what's good at the Hill Country farms and at the SA farmers markets. The menu changes; the quality doesn't.

Small batches

We bake once a week, in quantities we can actually manage well. That's why it tastes right.
